Thermal paper coating process

Thermal paper coating slury are non-encapsulated coatings and can be applied using any coating method, such as roller coating, air knife coating, doctor blade coating, and gravure coating. Drying temperature is crucial for thermal paper processing; improper control can lead to color development. Generally, airflow drying is used, with several independent drying zones to ensure the paper web temperature does not become too high. Although the smoothness of the thermal base paper is critical, it is usually calendered after coating, but the pressure should not be too high, otherwise it will cause color development.
